“My name is Haley Virgin and I am Assistant Warehouse Manager
I’ve been at Freefoam 6 years now. I worked in the Customer Team for 18 months and then started a newly created role in the warehouse, managing Stock Control. The business was growing and we needed a dedicated person to monitor and track stock over the whole Northampton site.
In a typical day I start by running reports on our stock levels following the previous nights pick for customer orders. Most days I deal with goods in and out from our suppliers such as products received from the company who process all our ‘foiled’ products.
Freefoam also have a factory in Ireland. Trucks come over 2 or 3 times a week with finished products. I check and book these items in to our system.
It has been really helpful that I worked in customer service before this job, so I knew all our product codes. We have over 1850 products lines so there’s a lot to pick up!
As the business has grown the role has grown, which has given me opportunities to develop new skills. Freefoam have supported me with courses on staff management and project management. (As part of this training I developed a simple but very effective way of storing tools. We were spending xxx hours a day searching for tools, but with the new xx board we spend minutes!)
I’m a practical person so I enjoy working here because you can see what you have achieved in your day. We have a great team spirit in the warehouse, and we all work well together.”
