My name is Michal Fijalkowski and I am a Warehouse Operative
I’m fairly new to Freefoam – I’ve been here about 8 months.
I started last year and was employed by an agency. Freefoam were pleased with my work so soon employed me on permanent basis and I got paid more!
The role I do was a new one. I manage all the finished products when they leave the factory.
I check that the product and stillage labels match, and count products in each stillage to make sure the quantity on each stillage matches to the label. It’s important that it’s correct for our stock levels.
If there is a small error I sort that out straight away. If there is a bigger issue I transport the stillage back to the factory.
I scan the label which books the products in to our stock system. I have a back ground in quality assurance so the job really suits me. I also unload trucks from our suppliers and make sure the yard is kept clean and tidy.
I already had a licence for Fork Lift truck and Counter balance truck but Freefoam also put me through the training for the Combi truck.
I like working at Freefoam for a few reasons. I like the shift, from 6am – 3pm Monday to Friday. I get to enjoy the weekend off!
And I also enjoy working for Jim, our warehouse manager – he’s a good manager, he let’s me get on with the job and it’s nice to know he trusts me to get everything done in the time. It works well.
