“My name is Paul Malivoire and I am the Maintenance Manager
I’ve been at Freefoam since February 2021.
The role at Freefoam appealed to me. I came from an industry in decline so coming to Freefoam which is a growing company in the buoyant home improvement sector was a breath of fresh air. Taking the job was a no brainer for me!
When I joined I was also pleased to see that it was a new production and maintenance team with new roles and a strong focus on Operational Excellence. We have all worked hard together to implement new ways of working and there’s a real team spirit. We get a lot of support and encouragement from experienced senior directors which helps us drive through improvements.
In a manufacturing environment maintenance is vital. My job is to manage all ongoing day to day maintenance with my team, and coordinate the preventative maintenance programme. I have implemented an electronic system to log all issues, create job tickets and allocate work to technicians which they receive on their phones. It’s an quick and efficient way of working. It also means we are gathering all data which means we can analyse trends and focus on under performing areas.
I also manage all external contractors getting all work permits, insurance and risk assessments in place. It’s essential that everyone on site is safe.
It’s been a very busy time, and even in that short time Freefoam has expanded and increased it’s workforce. It’s good to be part of such a successful business.”
