My name is Patrick Redmond and I am Credit Controller for Freefoam.
I’ve been at Freefoam for 19 years. I started out as a picker then became a checker, moved to help out as part of the warehouse admin team. I was then asked to be part of our customer service team in our main office which I did for 3 years before taking over as credit control – so I’ve seen a lot of changes!
I believe it’s an important job, making sure all the payments are made on time. We have over 234 accounts and multiple branches, which I have seen grown over the years.
I use our back-office system to manage and process all invoices and statements to send to our customers. I check the bank statement for payments made daily, which are then allocated to our customers’ accounts, I am also responsible clearing orders for release.
Our busiest time like a lot of credit controller is at the beginning and end of month when most payments are made but also in the middle when customers have agreed scheduled payment runs that I check.
We’re a small team, and I work with Sam, our credit control administrator keeping our accounts up to date and sorting queries.
