But we are always open to building new relationships and one our newest customers is Building Plastics On Demand.

Based in Kent owner and manager Ian Ironmonger only started trading just over 12 months ago. We asked him to give us a bit of background about his business.

Ian Ironmonger, Director, Building Plastics on Demand

You’re a new PVC supplier. When and why did you start the business?

“I’ve been in the PVC business for over 35 years. I worked in sales and was approached by a couple of business partners to start a new company focussed on PVC supply. With my experience and the opportunity to build a business from the ground up was a chance not to be missed. We got the keys to our newly built unit in October 2023 and worked very hard to get the building fitted out in time to open in November 2023.”

Why did you decide to stock the Freefoam range?

“I was familiar with the Freefoam range and knew the Sales Director. I’d always been impressed with the products, and liked the way they really thought about presenting their products. It’s little things, like the labels on the end of packaging instead of on the top, which makes it really easy to check and monitor stock. Freefoam have also put a lot of effort in to developing extra tools to help us sell. We love the Visualisers and find them really useful to show customers different options.”

How have you gone about promoting your business?

“We really stared from ground zero so have put a lot of time into our on site promotion. We’re situated near big high street brands like Screw Fix and Tool Station so get a lot of foot fall that way. We’ve made sure all products are really well merchandised so that customers can see and touch what their thinking of buying. We’ve built up a good database of contacts and regularly email them with offers and incentives to keep them engaged with our brand. It’s not rocket science, but it works for us!”

How have Freefoam helped you get your business off the ground?

“The whole team have been great. Kim Moorcroft, our Freefoam Area Sales Manager, has made sure we have all the Point of Sale and literature in place and has helped us with our Trade Days. The New Build team have been guiding us through the Specification process, the Customer Service team have helped us with ordering the right product and the Marketing Team have supported us with product images and photos for our website.”
